"Alpha Dog" is a story about young drug dealer Johnny Truelove, who makes a perilous decision to kidnap Zack Mazursky's 15-year-old brother. At first, everything seems under control, but as time goes on, the situation becomes increasingly complicated. Johnny desperately wants to get his money back, but his people can't properly protect Zack.

The main theme of the film is kidnapping a hostage, but it's really about so much more. It's an account of youth searching for its place in the world, searching for an example and upbringing. Johnny and his friends are underprivileged young people who would rather make money dealing drugs than seek meaningful goals in life. On the other hand, Zack, the 15-year-old hostage, doesn't understand the reality he finds himself in, and his youth and innocence are increasingly threatened.

"Alpha Dog" is primarily aimed at young viewers looking for true stories about youth and their choices. It's a film about how easily you can lose your way and how hard it is to get out of mistakes.
